Review

If you zipped through this and are not confused, that is rare. On the other hand, if you took time to learn the signs, planets, and houses (as well as their glyphs and meanings), then you have a basic knowledge of astrology and deserve a hearty congratulations! Learning astrology requires careful study and memorization. It is necessary to memorize the glyphs, houses, signs, and planets. Once those are learned, putting them together is not as hard as learning them.

In this tutorial we looked at what astrology is and what it can (and cannot) do. We learned what a chart is and some of the kinds of charts. We then went on to learning the glyphs, signs, planets, and houses. We practiced reading Albert Einstein's chart by going over it house by house. Then we learned about aspects by looking at a few in Einstein's chart. While reading the chart, we also learned about the rising sign, or the ascendant. We also learned about the descendant, the midheaven, and the nadir. From there, we covered a few other topics.

Her Window --by Maxfield ParrishRemember, if you have learned all this, you have started to learn astrology. There is still much to learn. There are many different types of charts you can read. I have not gone into comparing charts of different people, or relationship charts, or any progressed charts which let you look at what will be affecting a person at different points in his or her life. There are many aspects other than conjunct, opposition, sextile, square, and trine. There are also all the minor planets, or asteroids, like Chiron, to study. The fixed stars in the sky also affect a person and a chart.

I am not trying to throw a lot more on anyone and make it seem as if this tutorial has taught you nothing. I do want, though, to show that there is much I have not covered. I hope this has helped you learn a little of astrology and how it can be used to understand ourselves. This is not even the tip of the iceberg. Astrology has helped me understand who I am and it has helped me understand what happened in my relationships in my life. It has helped me see that there is a strength and weakness in everything, and nothing is all good or all bad. It has also helped me understand the cycles in life, from the daily cycle to all the other ones represented by the planets in the solar system.

I hope this has helped you. It will certainly give you enough of a background to make it easier to evaluate any astrology books that look interesting next time you go into a bookstore.

Good luck and blessed be!
